During this journey I have compared my self to Moses and Noah. I have been fighting saying this. Compare myself to Jesus Christ and walking on Water. I would never walk on water, I would just swim across.

I am sure everyone has seen the awkward ‘one black person’ in a ‘sea of ‘White’! The black community has often stated, want to see ‘one white person’ in a ‘sea of black’ Here it is…

Top-Flight Security

God was in my head last night and insisted I use the ‘walking on water’ comparison.

Well, God says my ‘Walking on Water’ was that I am part Apache/Cherokee Indian and look ‘White-ish’  I spent 3 years working for a Security company that resembled the Tuskegee airmen.  The security company was all black, 100% African American, from the owner, field supervisor, and every officer was ‘a brother’.  The job sites were section-8 housing in South Dallas high-crime areas, Oak Cliff, Pleasant Grove, Cedar Crest, Cockrill Hill.  These areas consistently rank as the worst places, with high crime, including robbery and violent crimes.

A sea of ‘Black’, I look ‘White’ lets just say ‘I stood out!’  One white in sea of black, in high crime areas.  I felt safe, Like God was watching over me.  I wish I could go back and do that again, miss that job, people I protected, fellow officers. I was the bad-ass white boy, in The ‘hood’.

I spent couple years before that, working in same South Dallas High-Crime area’s giving me around 5 years working in a sea of color. Cedar Crest, and Fair Park Areas. I did see some reverse racism, yelling “Salt n Peppa” while making rounds. A young black boy ran up to me one night, told me to leave and i don’t belong there. Some yelled ‘Top Flight Security” thinking because I am white, I would not understand the reference. I did, and it’s from black movie culture.

All I saw was a black family, husband/wife/two young daughters were no different that the same white family. All were glad I was their to keep them safe. They called these High-crime area, “Home!”

I went out to a post to pick up my paycheck, it was around midnight, I jumped the fence and was walking around looking for the on duty officers. When I walked up to them, one shouted, ‘Jason, I almost shot you!” I responded back ‘Really, How many white people come out here!’ We all laughed because it was true!

I got along and thrived in this environment, very interesting experience
